Each graphics card manufacturer approaches the naming of their versions differently. Mind you, some names are unnecessarily long or confusing. However, MSI chose a nomenclature that Nvidia didn’t like either.
Nvidia has banned MSI from selling the new version of GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics, according to HKEPC magazine. The reason is quite simple, the whole name is misleading. This is because MSI chose the SUPRIM cooler, which it normally uses in higher series. For model RTX 3060 Ti but the company decided to slightly modify the name to SUPER 3X, which caused problems.
Nvidia used the word SUPER to denote more powerful versions of graphics from the same series. This is how we could meet, for example, the RTX 2060 SUPER. So the name RTX 3060 Ti SUPER 3X suggested that Nvidia released a rejuvenated generation of graphics, which of course did not happen.
MSI had to withdraw the graphics card from the Asian market and it will not be available elsewhere in the world either. The unfortunate naming just made the manufacturer’s logistics more difficult. It is not clear whether the manufacturer will release a model under the name SUPRIM.
