Bola.net – Decision Cristiano Ronaldo joining Al Nassr was opposed by Christophe Jallet. The former French national team considers Ronaldo’s legendary status damaged since anchoring to Saudi Arabia.
The whole world was indeed surprised by Ronaldo’s decision at the beginning of 2023. Instead of having a career in Europe, the 37-year-old player actually turned to the Middle East.
Apart from the debate over this decision, Ronaldo arguably appeared impressive at his new club. 11 goals from the first 14 matches is definitely not bad for him.
However, Jallet believes that the move has done more harm than good for Ronaldo himself. This is sad considering what Ronaldo has achieved throughout his career.

Object of Hate
Ronaldo performed quite well with Al Nassr. However, Ronaldo remains the target of hatred when Al Nassr swallows bad results.
So far, Al Nassr has failed in the Super Cup, failed in the Kings Cup, lost in the Derby in Riyadh, and has dropped in the rankings in the Saudi Arabian Pro League standings.
“He has become an object of hatred. This is something you really don’t like. He is a legend in this sport but it will all fall apart,” Jallet said in Canal+.

Should have stayed in Europe
Jallet said Ronaldo should have stayed in Europe. If indeed there are no big clubs willing to accommodate him, the player should return to his childhood club, namely Sporting Lisbon.
“I prefer to see him play at Sporting. So I don’t understand why he chose this decision [gabung Al Nassr],” he said.
However, Jallet’s expectations were not as easy as reality. For Sporting, hiring Ronaldo will be a huge financial burden on the club.

Can’t Club
This problem is not only experienced by Sporting, but also other big clubs in Europe. Ronaldo is considered too expensive with almost 40 years of age.
This is the reason Ronaldo finally anchored to Al Nassr who dared to pay him high.
