The flea market and bargain market at the Ringcenter in Offenbach is about to end. The many visitors at the market ensured that all the streets and parking lots around the market were congested.
The bargain market also has many fans nationwide and so many more junk fans came to the last flea market than the usual 2000, according to the regulatory office.
Residents feel trapped
The crowds brought the streets around the market to a complete standstill. Local residents were particularly affected. Some of them couldn’t even get out of their own driveways because there were too many cars parked on the street. In addition, private properties are said to have been used as shortcuts and rubbish left behind.
135 administrative offences
At some point there were so many cars on the road that even the ten law enforcement officers on site could no longer control the situation. This is explained by the head of the public order office in Offenbach, Frank Weber, on the FFH microphone. According to the regulatory office, a total of 135 administrative offenses were identified.
How is the market going?
The regulatory office is certain that the market at the Ring Center cannot go on like this. “We intend to cancel the bargain market at this point and are in talks with the organizer,” says Frank Weber to FFH. It is still unclear how the bargain market will continue in the future and which other location in Offenbach could possibly be an option.
