“Renowned Marxist Thinker and Author Michael Lebowitz Passes Away in Vancouver”

Vancouver> World-renowned Marxist thinker and author of several books Michael Lebowitz (86) passed away in Vancouver, Canada. Ended on April 19. Born in Newark, America, he came to Vancouver as a teacher when Simon Fraser University was established in 1965. Later he became a Canadian citizen. In 2004, he married Marta Harnecker, a Chilean journalist, author and Marxist. She was also an advisor to the Cuban government. Later, both settled in Venezuela. There he worked with the government of Hugo Chávez. Both were actively involved in the socialist construction process in Cuba and Venezuela. Martha passed away in 2019. Jessica and Rachel are children. A Malayalam translation of his work Build It Now: Socialism for the Twenty-First Century has been published by Kerala Shastrasahitya Parishad.
