Investing.com – The payment card giant is exploring the benefits of the cryptocurrency industry and is poised to launch its own initiative focused on stablecoin payments, according to CoinTelegraph.
Visa’s head of cryptocurrencies recently tweeted (NYSE:) about a new cryptocurrency-related project, noting that Visa’s product will be designed to mass-produce public blockchain networks and stablecoin payments and aim to facilitate digital commerce in everyday life.
But while its own stablecoin is not yet ready, and Visa is “hunting” for programmers, engineers involved in server systems and Web3 technologies.
Visa has already taken its first steps into the crypto industry in 2020, partnering with blockchain firm Circle to support the stablecoin on certain credit cards. It then expanded its cryptocurrency offering but was forced to put some new industry partnerships on hold due to the cryptocurrency market crash in 2022.
