Colombian President Gustavo Petro denied, on Tuesday, that his country’s authorities had expelled Venezuelan dissident Juan Guaido, but accused him of entering Colombia irregularly.

Guaido said on Monday that he was expelled from Colombia a few hours after his arrival in Bogota to participate in a conference on Venezuela.

He indicated that Guaido was allowed to travel to Miami, where he arrived on Tuesday, “for humanitarian reasons, despite his irregular entry into the country (Colombia).”

And the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed, earlier, that “Juan Guaido (the US-backed opposition in Venezuela) is not invited to the international conference on the political process in Venezuela,” which was held two days ago. Noting that “the conference is a place to meet with part of the international community.”
