If you are on Twitter, you have the option of creating a second account. This does not necessarily have to be an alter ego, as we experience in the novella “The Curious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” (1886) by the Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson. Sometimes stars and starlets long for a private account that they only share with family and friends. All well and good, but what happens if someone finds out about the second account? In the case of Elon Musk, the network is completely freaking out.

“You’d never guess it was me!”

The small, round images next to the current account in the app menu provide an overview of other accounts. They represent a preview of the profile pictures. Musk has now shared a probably carelessly created screenshot on which such a circle with a photo can clearly be seen. It appears as if his son is seen with a toy rocket. The (supposedly unwanted) hint is clear: the billionaire has another account.

Musk himself does not deny a corresponding tweet on the subject. Instead, he comments, “You’d never guess it was me!” Shortly after the revelation, a Twitter user found Musk’s suspected alternate account and said it existed under the name @ErmnMusk. He now has 42,747 followers (as of April 26, 2023). Incidentally, the name “Elon Test” indicates that Musk is testing new functions there.

Elon Musk probably has 24,700 subscribers

Actually, Musk just wanted to show Twitter users how the platform’s subscription feature works. Users receive exclusive content for a monthly fee. Interesting: The shrewd businessman already had 24,700 subscribers at the time of the screenshot. Sounds like a nice extra income… By the way, the tweet with the screenshot that caused a stir comes from the graphic designer DogeDesigner and already has 5.3 million views (as of April 26, 2023).
