Indonesia Evacuates 542 Nationals from Sudan Amid Military Conflict: Updates and Details

The Indonesian government has successfully rescued 542 Indonesian nationals during the first stage of evacuation from Sudan, which has been embroiled in a military conflict since April 15. Among those rescued are Indonesian university students who joined the Khartoum Embassy team and Indonesians in Port Sudan evacuated through other routes. The government plans to execute the second stage of evacuation from Khartoum to Port Sudan, with plans to evacuate 298 Indonesian nationals. However, due to the rapidly shifting situation on the ground and fuel limitations for vehicles, the government cannot evacuate everyone at the same time. The safety and presence of Indonesian nationals in Sudan is a cause for concern given the ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the capital city of Khartoum and its surrounding areas. The government urges other nationals to report themselves to the embassy to be evacuated from Sudan as soon as possible.
