Details: On Tuesday, the Turkish leader delivered three campaign speeches on the eve of the May 14 parliamentary and presidential elections.
He was supposed to end the evening with a joint live interview with Ulke TV and Channel 7.
However, due to his busy schedule, Erdoğan’s TV appearance started an hour and a half later than scheduled and was then interrupted during a question 10 minutes into the show.
The live broadcast continued after about 10 minutes, and Erdogan apologized for feeling sick.
“Yesterday and today were hard days. That’s why I got sick with the stomach flu,” the president said.
After that, the Turkish leader answered a few more questions before ending the live broadcast.
The publication recalls that since the election of the mayor of Istanbul in 1994, 69-year-old Erdogan has not lost a single election to any opponent. In total, he lost only twice in his entire career – during his first two campaigns – in the 1980s.
