The 28-year-old motorcyclist and a black SUV drove on Monday after 10 p.m. on Emil-Klöti-Strasse in Zurich. In a right-hand bend, the motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle for reasons that are still unknown and collided with a candelabra, as the Zurich city police announced on Tuesday.

He had to be given first medical aid on site and then taken to a hospital. The exact cause of the accident is being investigated.

The police arrested the driver of the black SUV at the scene of the accident. The public prosecutor initiated proceedings against him on suspicion of a speeding offence.
