“Upcoming Audi A8 e-tron: The Most Powerful Audi Electric Model Yet”

The Audi A8 of the current generation has been in circulation since 2017, so we must gradually and inevitably talk about its successor. As the British car media writes Autocar, an electric A8 successor will reach customers already next year and it will become the most powerful Audi electric model to date.

If the information available to the media is true, then the upcoming A8 e-tron will be really powerful – the most powerful Audi electric model so far is the RS e-tron GT, which develops 637 horsepower. With the power figures of the most powerful models approaching 700 horsepower, the Audi will be a competitive model against the likes of the Mercedes AMG EQS 53 and the BMW i7 M70.

Autocar available information suggests that the upcoming model will be built on the larger version of the PPE platform. As you know, Audi and Porsche are jointly developing the PPE platform for their electric cars. Audi came up with several electric car concepts last year – one of them, the “grandsphere”, was a preview of the upcoming electric version of the A8. This concept was equipped with 120kWh batteries, promising a range of 750 kilometers on a single charge, while Audi promises a maximum charging capacity of up to 270kW at fast charging stations. The large batteries are expected to be retained in the production car. The design will be slightly different, but Audi chief designer Mark Lichte has previously stated that this concept gives a very specific look at the upcoming A8 e-tron.
