National days for lifelong learning will be held in Burgas

For the third time in a row, Burgas will host the National Lifelong Learning Days.

They will take place between April 26 and 28. The event will be opened at 14:00 tomorrow, Wednesday, April 26, at the Center for Contemporary Art and Library by Albena Mihailova, Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Science and head of the project “Implementation of the renewed priorities of the European Learning Program of adults’.

Among the guests will be the mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov, the regional governor Prof. Maria Neikova, the chairman of the Municipal Council – Burgas and regional coordinator of the adult learning program Prof. Sevdalina Turmanova, as well as the chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Teachers Yanka Takeva, who is member of the National Coordinating Group for Lifelong Learning.

Experts from the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Regional Employment Office will present policies and projects for adult education and lifelong learning.

The following day – Thursday, April 27, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Prof. Albena Chavdarova will open a conference of the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe (EPALE).

The experience of the municipalities of Burgas, Vratsa, Silistra and Targovishte with their successful models for skills development will be presented. The four municipalities will also share their experience in the “Student Practices 2” project.

Accompanying events will also be held, such as information stands of vocational high schools from the Burgas region and of EPALE – Electronic platform for adult learning in Europe, training for the acquisition of life skills, as well as the national competition “Best young car mechanic and motorcycle driver vehicle”.
