Undersecretariat of Health by short Law of Isapres: “The amount will not be established in the law, it is not something that the Executive can decide”

Before the announcement of the Minsal, the Undersecretary of Public Health, pointed out that “this is an effective and safe vaccine. We expand the vaccination group voluntarily for people over 12 years of age“.

Albagli gave the reasons for this expanded coverage: “what we want to do is that all people who want to protect themselves for the winter can do so and the accumulated scientific research is showing that this vaccine is effective and safe.”

Along the same lines, he said that “The population that we have to protect as the objective of the campaign are people over 60 years of age“. In addition, he emphasized the expiration date of these vaccines: “There is no risk of vaccine expiration,” he concluded.

For May 8, it is planned to enter the Isapre Short Law project. When asked about the status of this project, Albagli commented that “I do not have a date in mind for the entry of the bill, that is something that is still being discussed with the relevant actors (Fonsasa, Superintendency and parliamentarians).

“The bill is well advanced, We have already reached great agreements regarding its content, which all it does is implement the Supreme Court ruling that has no interpretations,” explained the undersecretary.

“This ruling is one and the only content of the body of the law is to establish the mechanisms by which we are going to implement that ruling. This is very advanced, we are reviewing the latest details to make sure that it is a law that manage to implement the ruling, but also protect the rights of the people,” added the authority.

Regarding the reasons that have delayed the project, the undersecretary stated that “the implementation of the Supreme Court ruling is complex and that implies that we must reach agreements with all the actors involved to ensure that it is an implementation of the ruling that effectively mitigates any risk that may exist for the private sector”.

Regarding the amounts, Andrea Albagli said that “the amount is not established in the law. The amount is extracted from the Supreme Court ruling. Therefore, the amount It is not something that the Executive can decide. The amount is a consequence of what the ruling says about which are the charges that should be returned, if they were excess charges. There are estimates, but here there is no amount on which it is possible to decide what is the amount from the Executive that is going to be required from the isapres”.
