Homeownership Education and Resident Stabilization Associate at Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago

Since 1975, Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago continues to help Chicagoland residents buy, fix and keep their homes. Our team of mission-driven staff empowers residents with pre and post-purchase education and counseling, promotes communities through community building and engagement activities, and supports homeowners throughout the homeownership life cycle by providing access to capital. As a Homeownership Education and Resident Stabilization (HEARS) Associate, you will work with NHS Chicago’s Education Coordinator and Neighborhood Strategies team to create homeowner resource materials, support the planning and execution of community education and outreach events, catalog our workshop offerings, and communicate event updates to organizational departments. The HEARS Associate will have the opportunity to leverage and grow numerous skill sets including volunteer management; graphic design; event planning; online research, and cataloging.

Member Duties : The key objective of the Homeownership Education and Resident Stabilization Associate will be to assist Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago’s Homeownership and Neighborhood Strategies teams in the coordination of educational webinars, in-person workshops, resource materials, and events to inform, empower and engage residents in the Low and Moderate Income (LMI) communities which NHS Chicago services, as part of our strategic goals of advancing racial equity and inclusion in our Neighborhoods. The result of these activities is an organized educational content library, speaker’s list, and homeowner’s/renter’s toolkit through participation in outreach activities, online research, and data entry. These efforts will further our strategies to promote homeownership as a tool to achieve financial security and social equity within NHS target communities.
