The Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram landed in Baghdad the day before yesterday, and in the evening, on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, she performed her first concert in the Iraqi capital, during which she entertained the audience. Nancy Ajram expressed her happiness and joy at meeting her Iraqi audience.
The ceremony is an important indication of the areas of security that Baghdad enjoys during this holiday. It drew the attention of observers that “extremist groups” did not disturb the atmosphere of the ceremony, as happened last year with the Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan. Many Arab singers and artists are expected to come to Baghdad these days to perform similar concerts.
Mahdi Al-Shammari, owner of the “Baghdad Palms Entertainment Complex”, in which singer Nancy Ajram’s concert was held, told Asharq Al-Awsat that “the ceremony came in the context of the festival (Our Baghdad Festival), which is sponsored by (UT) TV channel, and organized by (Babylon) company.” And it continues for three days. According to Al-Shammari, it was scheduled to participate in the ceremony yesterday evening, the Tunisian singer Lutfi Bushnaq, and the dean of the Iraqi shrine, Hussein Al-Adhami, and this evening the role of the Lebanese singer Assi Al-Hillani and the Iraqi singer Aseel Hamim will come.
