“Belgium, Netherlands, and Germany Joint Bid Among Four Candidates for Women’s World Cup 2027”

Candidate for the organization of the Women’s World Cup in 2027 with the Netherlands and Germany, Belgium now knows the three candidates that will have to be surpassed.

FIFA announced this Monday the four applications it had received for the organization of the 2027 Women’s World Cup. Apart from that of Belgium, accompanied by the Netherlands and Germany, Brazil and South Africa are candidates, just like the United States with Mexico.

Apart from the federations of Asia and Oceania which organize the World Cup this summer in Australia and New Zealand, all the other federations therefore all have a candidacy. The host country will be chosen on May 17, 2024 in a public vote.

In its candidacy, Belgium will therefore be able to count on the support of Germany, which has already organized the event in 2011. Opposite, South Africa hopes to become the first host country in Africa, as it knew do for men in 2010. Brazil could also be the first South American host country, thirteen years after the organization of the men’s edition on its soil. The United States and Mexico are also serious candidates but the organization at home, with Canada, of the men’s tournament a year before, will perhaps not be an argument that will play in their favor.
