A typical sample of his work is the album “Adilos topos” released in 1999

The path of Giorgos Michas since the 80s is varied and interesting. Guitarist, composer, singer, Michas plays punk in the 80s with various bands, the best known being the band Sabotage. It moves between metapunk, electronic blues, experimentations and collaborations follow with basic preferences Blues, rock, jazz, but also rebetika.

A typical example of his work is the album “Adilos Topos” which was released in 1999. This was followed by collaborations like this one with Theodora Tsatsou and his second album, in 2003 entitled “Pio Pera Apo Ta Onira”.

In his new collaboration with Sokratis Malamas “With the Moon as a partner”, Giorgos Michas signs the music, the lyrics, while he has also done the orchestration of the 12 songs.

Sokratis Malamas, who has also done the production, wrote about him on his Facebook page: “I heard the songs of Mr. Giorgos Michas and I remembered the words of Nikos Karouzos: “Art is a maneuver of happiness, so that we can exist somewhat comfortably unhappy”. So I decided to undertake the production of this work.”

Meeting Giorgos Michas here at the Kokkinos studio, we understood that this time he came to stay… And that the route from rock and punk to Malama arrived with full baggage…

*In the first part of the Folk Afternoon we also heard the songs “Magissa pseuftra” (G. Michas – B. Dialyna) “Perasa thalasses vouna” (P. Malamas).
