“Southern California Rapper Desiigner Charged with Indecent Conduct on Delta Airlines Flight from Tokyo to Twin Cities – Billboard Hot 100 Artist Exposed Himself and Masturbated on Plane.”
Sidney Selby III, better known as Desiigner, was charged in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis for misdemeanor indecent conduct after exposing himself repeatedly and masturbating on a Delta Airlines flight from Tokyo to the Twin Cities. The incident occurred on April 17, and Selby was taken into custody and questioned by the FBI upon landing. According to the criminal complaint, the artist apologized for his actions. Desiigner, best known for his hit single “Panda,” which topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 2016, has not yet entered a plea. The flight attendants first noticed Selby exposing himself 60 to 90 minutes after takeoff, and subsequently admonished him several times. The final time, they handed him a card stating his behavior was against federal law, and he was directed to the back of the plane to be monitored by his travel companions. Selby later told the FBI agent that he was coming back from Japan, where he performed and “didn’t really get much” in the way of sex. While court records do not list an attorney for Selby nor indicate when he is set to appear in court, recent incidents of indecent conduct on flights have garnered media attention and led to a crackdown by airlines and authorities.
