“Appeal for Help: Egyptian Student Severely Injured in Sudan’s Military Confrontations”

Activists circulated on social media, an appeal to help an Egyptian student who was “severely injured” as a result of the military confrontations taking place in Sudan between the army and the Rapid Support Forces.

The Sudanese activist, Thuwaiba Hashim, reported on her Facebook account, an appeal from the friends of the Egyptian student, Mahmoud Atef Mahmoud Tantawi, stating that he had been seriously injured, while he was on Sixtieth Street, east of the Sudanese capital, Khartoum. “Immediately, his friends took him to East Nile Hospital in the area for treatment.”

They added that “the external fragments that hit the Egyptian youth were extracted, and the bleeding stopped, and then he was transferred to Hantoub Hospital, east of Wad Medani, the capital of Gezira state.”

The student’s friends who were with him in the hospital confirmed, “He underwent an operation to extract the fragments that he was exposed to and reached the spinal cord, and now he cannot move his lower limbs, but there is no certain information about the extent of his injury.

Sudanese activist Thuwaiba Hashim appealed to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the case of the injured young man, to move to help him.
