Faithful to the event, residents of all ages attended the traditional Solidarity Book Market for yet another year, the finishing touch of the 2023 Book Days. The mayor, Luis Partida, visited the stalls set up for the occasion in the Center accompanied by councilors Cultural La Despernada.
Throughout the day, the public was able to purchase books on different themes and languages at the price of 1 euro per copy. These volumes were donated by individuals to the F. Lázaro Carreter Library throughout the year. The amount collected, a total of 1,370.62 euros, will go to the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
In addition, coinciding with the Solidarity Book Market, the presentation of the 1st Comic Contest and workshops for the little ones took place. In the event, enlivened by the Dixie Group and the Band of the Municipal School of Music and Dance, local authors and booksellers also participated.
