Japanese stock indices rose in the morning trading session on the Tokyo Stock Exchange today, Monday.
The 225-share Nikkei Stock Average rose 82.02 points, or 0.29 percent, to 28,646.39 points in the morning session at 1130 am local time (0230 GMT).

The broader Topix index added 7.51 points, or 0.37%, to reach 2042.57 points.
Earlier, the benchmark Nikkei index rose at the beginning of trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Monday.
The Nikkei rose 0.24 percent to 28,631.78 points, while the broader Topix index rose 0.25 percent to 2,040.22 points.
A few days ago, the Bank of Japan kept its assessment unchanged for seven of the nine economic regions within the country.
