The 69-year-old pedestrian Silawatie Niradjan died in hospital over the weekend. This after being hit by a car on April 15, on the corner of Matheus- and Fredrikshoopweg in Suriname.
According to the Surinamese police, the woman was hit by a 30-passenger bus on the aforementioned corner. The bus driver came from the Matheusweg on the Fredrikshoopweg and hit the woman who was walking across the street.
She was injured and was taken by ambulance to the emergency room. She died Saturday afternoon as a result of the injuries sustained.
After the collision, the bus was seized by order of the police. Latour law enforcement officers are in charge of the investigation.
