Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester United remained scoreless for 90 minutes. As a result, the duel continued into extra time 2×15 minutes.

In the match at Wembley, Sunday (23/4/2023) evening WIB, Brighton played dominant from the early minutes by having more possession of the ball. The first chance came in the seventh minute when Alexis Mac Allister released a free kick that steered the ball towards the near post, only for David de Gea to push over.

Brighton threatened again in the 11th minute when Pascal Gross and Soley March made it 2-1, before setting up Juan Ensico. Ensico tried to shoot even though it was still wide.


MU got a chance a minute later through Bruno Fernandes who shot the ball from the front of the penalty box. Robert Sanchez swiftly brushed it off.

Brighton threatened again in the 16th minute through Kaoru Mitoma who got the ball in front of goal. Mitoma kicked the ball but wide.

Brighton continued to have control of the ball and made it difficult for MU to build attacks. Ensico made another chance in the 32nd minute when he greeted the rebound in the penalty box, even though his shot went off the right side.

MU increased the intensity of attacks in the last five minutes of the game. Fernandes received Casemiro’s pass on the right and made it into the box to finish with a cross, but the ball went wide.

In injury time, Christian Eriksen shot Marcus Rashford’s cut-back down the left but Sanchez was able to block with his feet.

The 0-0 score closed the first half duel.

In the second half, MU tried to take the initiative to attack to find goals. In the 50th minute, it was Brighton who threatened first in this half through Pervis Estupinan’s kick, which followed Lewis Dunk’s header, but it still flew.

Six minutes later De Gea made a brilliant save when he tipped Ensico’s powerful shot from close range to maximize the chaos in front of goal.

Brighton threatened again in the 58th minute when Welbeck headed in Gross’ cross. Unfortunately the ball wide of the target.

Likewise with Soley March’s opportunity two minutes later which forced De Gea to ward off the ball from his opponent’s right foot.

MU got another chance to score in the 64th minute when Antony cut in from the right and made a cut-in which was ended by a left-footed shot, which sent the ball heading right into Sanchez’s arms.

MU and Brighton exchanged attacks in the final 15 minutes of the match in search of goals. In the 83rd minute, March tried to test De Gea with a low kick from his left foot, but was pushed over.

Until the 90 minutes of the match ended, there were no goals so Extra Time 2×15 minutes had to be applied.
