“CENS sets new 3DMark Port Royal record with GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Kingpin SLI setup”

The 3DMark program is used to check the performance of graphics cards. We use it ourselves in our GPU testing routine. One of the available tests is Port Royal, which checks the capabilities of a given card with Ray Tracing enabled. An overclocker named CENS has just broken a record in this benchmark.

Record 3DMark Port Royal score

The new record score is 36,370 points. Interestingly, it was achieved using graphics cards of the previous generation, i.e. GeForce RTX 30 (Ampere). More precisely, these were two EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Kingpin models that were created for the greatest enthusiasts.

The cards were connected in SLI. In addition, cooling blocks with liquid nitrogen were connected to each, which allowed the Boost clock to be increased to 2550 MHz, i.e. by as much as 37 percent. higher than the reference values. The record was broken on a computer with an Intel Core i9-13900KS processor and DDR5 8400 MT/s memory.

You may wonder why the RTX 30 series cards were used to break the record, and not the RTX 40. The answer is simple – the latest generation of GPUs do not support SLI. Therefore, the GeForce RTX 4090 is about 13 percent. slower in 3DMark Port Royal than two GeForce RTX 3090 Ti cards.
