The director forgot about safety.
Soviet actors often had to make serious sacrifices for the sake of an impressive shot. Sometimes it turned into a tragedy. On the set of the film, a terrible story happened with a young and promising actress Inna Burduchenko. She became famous after the film “Ivanna”, where she played the daughter of a priest. In his film, the director highlighted the complex topic of cooperation between the Orthodox Church and the Nazis. The audience was stunned by the acting work of Burduchenko, because she seemed to live in this role.
After the resounding success, Inna arranged her personal life. The actress married Igor Kirilluk and soon became pregnant. At this time, director Anatoly Slesarenko invited Burduchenko to his film “Flower on the Stone”. Inna had to take out the banner from the burning house. The director constantly didn’t like something, so the scene was filmed three times. But the last time was fatal.
On the third take, the house collapsed, and Burduchenko did not have time to run out of it. The actress was carried out of the burning building, but her skin was burned by 78%. In the hospital, Inna came to her senses and even made plans for the future. However, it was not possible to save Burduchenko. The 21-year-old actress died from her injuries while three months pregnant. Three years later, her husband passed away – he died in a car accident. Director Slesarenko received five years in prison, but was released early and continued to make films.
