Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Some time ago, a number of CCTV footage in Ukraine went viral showing a mysterious flash of light. In the footage, an unusual flash of light occurs at night in Kyiv, Ukraine, Wednesday (19/4/2023).
The viral footage on social media immediately invited public questions. In fact, not a few of them made light jokes by assuming that the flash of light came from a UFO belonging to an extraterrestrial alien.
One of the videos even shows that a flaming object appears to fall to the ground. In this regard, Ukrainian authorities confirmed that an unidentified aerial object had indeed fallen from the sky at around 22:00 local time on Wednesday (19/4/2023).
As a result of the fall of this mysterious object, the Ukrainian authorities issued an air warning in Kyiv and its surroundings. However, some time later the alert was lifted because the flash of light was not from an air strike
“After verification and clarification processes, information regarding possible enemy aircraft or air strikes with missile weapons was not confirmed,” the Kyiv City Military Administration wrote. Reuters, Sunday (23/4/2023).
One theory is that the mysterious flash was caused by the crash of a US satellite. However, this was denied by the United States Space Agency, NASA. Ukrainian air force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat suggested that a meteorite may have entered Earth’s atmosphere.
Currently, civilian areas in Kyiv are still being actively attacked by Russian missiles and drones, causing local people to take shelter underground. However, this phenomenon actually made the people of Ukraine ‘happy’ because the flash of light had nothing to do with war.
In fact, the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, Andriy Yermak, joked that the mysterious flash of light that had occurred in his country was a UFO.
