Jakarta –
Men’s doubles Dawn Alfian and women’s doubles Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi took the time to go back to his hometown to ask for his parents’ blessing before appearing in the tournament Asian Badminton Championships 2023. The moment coincided with Eid.
Amalia flew to Solo, Central Java. Meanwhile Fajar left for Bandung, West Java. “I feel very happy and touched,” said Tiwi, who has missed Eid with her family for three years, in a written statement, Sunday (23/4/2023).
“Even though there really isn’t much time, but you can take time to celebrate Eid with your family at home,” he added.
Tiwi, Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi’s close friend, initially gave up when the flight ticket search process ran into problems because the schedule she was looking for was no longer available.
“Actually, this was not planned in advance. I asked permission from the coach on Thursday (20/4) morning and it was allowed. From there I looked for tickets to go home on Friday (21/4) afternoon because we in the women’s doubles still practiced on Friday. morning,” Tiwi said.
“But all day that Thursday I couldn’t find the schedule I wanted, and so did when I checked on Friday morning when I woke up. I had given up and thought maybe it was fate that I had not been allowed to go home. But for some reason just before practice on that Friday morning, I checked the ticket booking application again and suddenly, thank God, the schedule appeared,” he revealed.
Not unlike Tiwi, Fajar said that his return this time to the City of Flowers was not only to stay in touch, but also to ask for blessings from his parents.
“I did take the time to return to Bandung, celebrate Eid al-Fitr at home with my parents and family. Jakarta-Bandung is not too far away and I got two days off yesterday, Friday and Saturday,” said Fajar.
“In the previous year I didn’t celebrate Eid al-Fitr with my family because there was a match in the Philippines. So it’s nice to be able to gather and ask for blessings for this BAC (Badminton Asia Championship) match. Hopefully this will be an additional motivation to achieve maximum results,” Fajar hoped. .
Until this news was published, the Indonesian badminton team had landed at Dubai International Airport. After this, he will immediately rest at the hotel before undergoing training in the afternoon.
The 2023 Badminton Asia Championships will take place on April 25-30. Indonesia sent 18 representatives, including Fajar who will pair with Muhammad Rian Ardianto, and Tiwi/Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma, to take part in the championship which is equivalent to the BWF World Tour Super 1000.
