“Americans Corpuz and Yin Lead by One Stroke at Chevron Championship”

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Americans Allisen Corpuz and Angel Yin shot 67 on Saturday, finishing the day leading by one stroke with a total of 206, which is minus 10, at the Chevron Championship.

The major tournament was moved from the Californian desert to the suburbs of Houston this year.

Corpuz started strong, with birdies on four of the first five holes. She had a chance to make another one on the 18th hole, but her putt went just wide.

“I just tried to get myself in a good position, on the fairways and on the greens,” she said. I hit some really solid shots early on and was able to convert the putts.”

Yin made four birdies on the second part of the course, including one in the 18th which allowed him to climb to first place.

“Even though I didn’t hit as well as the first or second day, I managed to play well, I adapted and stayed patient,” she explained. My caddy kept telling me to be patient, and I’m glad I did.”

Both Corpuz and Yin are seeking their first LPGA title.

Amy Yang (65), Albane Valenzuela (68) and Meghan Khang (70) are one stroke behind.

Yang had five birdies in seven holes, among eight birdies in total.

Canadians Maddie Szeryk and Brooke Henderson posted minus two, results of scores of 70 and 76.

Henderson committed a triple bogey, as well as three bogeys.
