Ford’s electric pickup F-150 Lightning will travel to the European coast of the Atlantic Ocean and reach the first customers in our part of the world next year – as the first Ford customers will get this car in Norway. As Ford explains, it’s in response to “tremendous customer demand” for this car. “I’ve been with Ford for 25 years, but I’ve never seen demand like this car. There are customers who literally come knocking on the door and demand that we bring this car to Norway,” says Per Gunnar Berg, CEO of Ford Norway.
The F-150 Lightning Lariat Launch Edition version will travel to Norway, but not everyone will get the car – a limited number of cars will be sent to Norway. The car will be equipped with a 98kWh battery or “Standard Range” system. In this case, the mileage on a single charge in our usual WLTP cycle is unknown, but using the US EPA cycle, it should be enough for 386 kilometers.
In the US, this particular version is equipped with two electric motors, so all-wheel drive. The system develops 452 horsepower and 1050Nm of torque. In the “Extended Range” version, this car can develop up to 580 horsepower – in this version, the car is equipped with a 131kWh battery, and in the EPA cycle, the car covers more than 500 kilometers on a single charge. Ford, however, has not informed that this version would be planned for Norway.
The car will be sold in more than 70 official Ford dealerships throughout Norway. All these centers are fully equipped to service and provide these machines with everything they need. The machines will be delivered next year, but the price will be high – around 110 thousand euros.
