“Latvian Ice Hockey Goalkeeper Elvis Merzlikins Named Most Influential Sports Content Creator on Social Networks in Latvia”

Latvian ice hockey goalkeeper Elvis Merzlikins at yesterday’s “Golin Accelerators of Relevance influencer index 2023” award ceremony was recognized for the most influential content creator of social networks in the sports category in Latvia.

The index identifies leaders in three categories: “micro” (from 1,000 to 10,000 followers), “medium” (10,000 to 25,000 followers) and “macro” (from 25,000 followers). This year, the most influential content creators on the social network platform “Instagram” were analyzed in eleven areas, including sports. In the “macro” category, Merzlikin surpassed beach volleyball player Anastasia Samilova and another Latvian, Zemga Girgensons, who plays in the National Hockey League (NHL).

The European champion in mixed martial arts (MMA) Daniks Vesneņok won the “medium” category, while the basketball player Artūrs Žagars won the “micro” category.

The performance of the most influential content creators was also evaluated by an independent jury team, represented by experts in the specific fields. Ints Megnis, the editor of the magazine “Sporta Avīze”, was responsible for the sports category.
