VANDOLIERS is a uniquely Texas band that distills the vast and diverse musical identity of the Lone Star State into a raucous setting. After spending much of the last three years furiously writing and recording music, this Dallas-Fort Worth sextet is back with The Vandoliers, a new album that proves that these loud and upbeat country punks are closer together, more cohesive and sonically more convincing than ever.
Forged in the fire of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Vandoliers is the product of a time of immense growth and change for the band, recorded with Grammy Award-winning producer Eric Delegard at Reeltime Audio in Denton, TX.
The vandoliers is a manifesto, both sonically and lyrically. It’s an affirmation of the band’s distinctive character, their sonic rebellion and their big, bold stage presence. They also have range, but that’s to be expected in a band that deftly blends mariachi bugles with country-punk beats.
This stunning fourth album builds on the Vandoliers’ most cohesive effort to date without sacrificing any of the distinctive identity that makes the band work as well on tour alongside punks Flogging Molly as they do as opening act for country legends. indie Turnpike Troubadours, or Dallas rockers Old 97s. As its members have grown and matured, so has the Vandoliers’ sound. What remains the same, however, is the band’s core philosophy of solidarity and hope, evidenced by the motto they have all tattooed on their arms: Vandoliers Forever, Forever Vandoliers.
Vandoliers are Joshua Fleming, bassist Mark Moncrieff, drummer Trey Alfaro, violinist Travis Curry, electric guitarist Dustin Fleming, and multi-instrumentalist Cory Graves. Formed in 2015, the band released Ameri-Kinda in 2016 and The native in 2017 and Forever (2019).
