The Jakarta Archdiocese and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin wished Muslims a happy Eid al-Fitr, while the Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed the date as April 22, 2023.

The Jakarta Archdiocese and all Catholics in the country wished Eid Mubarak 1444 Hijriah to all Muslims, according to Bishop Cardinal Ignatius Suharyo. The Vice President of Indonesia, Ma’ruf Amin, encouraged the public to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1 Shawwal 1444 Hijriah while maintaining order, solidarity, and unity. The Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed that 1 Shawwal 1444 Hijri or Eid al-Fitr 2023 AD would fall on Saturday. Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, appealed to all Muslims to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in simplicity. The message during Eid al-Fitr is one of peace and unity.
