Tchibanga, April 21, 2023, (AGP) – Tradition has been respected in Nyanga province with regard to the celebration of the Muslim holiday Eid El-Fitr, which marks the breaking of the fasting month of Ramadan.
At the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, linked to the feast of Eid El-Fitr, the Muslims of Tchibanga and the hinterland broke their fast in fervor around moments of joy and sharing.
This Friday, the great prayer of the end of Ramadan took place at the great mosque of the capital of the province of Nyanga. Opportunity for the representative of the Higher Council for Islamic Affairs of Tchibanga, Imam Mouslim Mouissi-Mouissi, to discuss the path of Allah, which all Muslims must take in their daily conduct. And thus follow the model of Abraham, father of faith.
‘’In our daily life and through our actions, faith and discernment must guide the Muslim, who must always be ready for the call and the recognition of the divinity.‘, said the imam of the Grand Mosque.
After a month of prohibitions and fasting, tradition requires Muslims to dress in new clothes giving rise to celebrations at the end of the prayer, before the festive phase.
‘’Depending on whether we live with our neighbors and other fellow citizens, this day is very special for the Muslim, who shares his meal not only with his family, but also with non-Muslims. Because we have one God”, explained Tcheck, president of the Malian community of Tchibanga.
Eid Al-Fitr is the Muslim holiday marking the breaking of the fast of the month of Ramadan. It is celebrated on the first day of the month of Shawwal. It is also sometimes called aïd as-Seghir, “the little party”, as opposed to Eid Al-Kebir, known as the sheep festival, the big party.
