The arrest warrant for Kang Rae-gu, former executive auditor of Korea Water Resources Corporation, a key figure in the suspicion of delivering money and goods to the Democratic Party of Korea in 2021, was dismissed.
Former auditor Kang, who attended the warrant review and said, “I will have a day to say it someday” to various questions, remained silent even after the warrant was dismissed.

“Thank you to the judge for making a wise decision.”
Previously, the prosecution explained that after requesting an arrest warrant, “there is a risk of destroying evidence or escaping.”
Before the prosecution’s investigation, former auditor Kang was found to have made two calls with Ganghwa-pyeong, a former Dong-gu district councilman in Daejeon, and the prosecution suspects that they were trying to match their words.
However, the court did not accept the prosecution’s claim, saying, “It is difficult to conclude that they attempted to destroy evidence or persuaded other related persons to state false facts.”
However, he added, “It seems that some of the evidence for the main charges has been collected,” and it seems that he has judged that some of the main evidence, such as the phone recording file of former Vice President Lee Jung-geun, has been secured.
Regarding this, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office protested, saying, “The circumstances of trying to conciliate or match with the accomplices were revealed, and even the actual destruction of evidence occurred.”
Kang Gang-pyeong, a former member of the district council, who was stated in the warrant that he had previously divided 10 million won, the share of the head of the regional headquarters, into 20 envelopes, denied all charges in a phone call with MBC.
Mr. Kim, who was designated as a so-called ‘sponsor’, also explained, “It is true that money is requested, but all of them have been rejected.”
Prosecutors requested an arrest warrant after a week of seizure and search, but the investigation is likely to be put on hold as the first recruit failed to be secured.
The prosecution decided to review whether to request an arrest warrant for former auditor Kang again through a supplementary investigation.
