The group has existed on Facebook since 2020 (3 million members) View From My Window. The concept is simple: just take a picture out of your window. We see spectacular American vistas (Alaska, Palm Springs, NYC) but also Finnish backyards, Romanian snowy landscapes, the Seine in Paris, South African forests and Belgian rainbows.
After the first ‘Gouw’-, Zaan-, frost-, Guisweg-, Westerwatering-, Westerkoog-, Houtveld-, Papenpad-, Odulphus-, Zaanbocht-, Statenhoek-, Oostzijderpark-, Rooswijk-, Monet-, cats-, We received even more Pharus, Joshua, Padlaan, Beatrixflat, Noordwachter, Schepenbuurt, Verkade, Gortpeller, Steven and Zwaardemaker photos. “Bring it on, we always say” (preferably with a piece of window).
Maike Siedenburg: “Since we moved into our new house (Westzanerdijk), my photo album in the phone only consists of photos with a horizon. Taken from our garden house, where we live until the renovation is finished. If it hadn’t been so foggy you could have seen Westzaan in the distance, now only the Westzijderveld.”
