AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticized the acquittal of all 67 accused in the Naroda Patiya massacre case, quoting a poem of the late poet Rahat Indori.

The acquittal of all sixty-seven accused in the Naroda Patiya massacre case has been criticised by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi. Owaisi quoted from the late poet Rahat Indori to hit out at the ruling BJP in Gujarat. Among the acquitted were former BJP MLA Maya Kodnani and ex-Bajrang Dal leader Babu Bajrangi. Described as “one of the worst episodes of violence” during the 2002 Gujarat riots, the incident occurred a day after the Sabarmati Express was burned in Godhra in which 58 Kar Sevaks died. Muslims killed in the Naroda Gam area numbered eleven.
