When it comes to explaining why South Africa refuses to condemn the Russia, an argument is put forward spontaneously: Moscow has supported the fight of the African National Congress (ANC) against apartheid. Now in power, the ANC would express its gratitude in claiming to be neutral. But, for the Ukrainians, this explanation is incomplete, and therefore erroneous. It illustrates the distortions of history to which they font face.
