According to the Tugon ng Masa (TNM) Q1 2023 survey done by Octa Research, top government officials in the Philippines are receiving high ratings for their performance. Representative Elpidio Barzaga Jr. congratulated House Speaker Martin Romualdez and other officials, stating that the results confirm they are “doing a good job.” The survey showed that 83% of adult Filipinos trust President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., 87% trust Vice President Sara Duterte, 50% trust Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, 55% trust Romualdez, and 39% trust Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo. The same survey also revealed that 80% of adult Filipinos were satisfied with the performance of Marcos, with 84% for Duterte, 53% for Zubiri, 59% for Romualdez, and 41% for Gesmundo. The officials also scored high in previous approval and satisfaction surveys conducted by Pulse Asia and Social Weather Stations (SWS). In a recent Pulse Asia survey, Romualdez and Zubiri obtained a high approval rating of 51%, while Marcos and Duterte received approval ratings of 78% and 83%, respectively. The SWS survey in December also saw the House of Representatives under the leadership of Romualdez achieve a high satisfaction rating of 56%, ranked as “very good.”
