Christophe Galtier, the coach of PSG, is at the heart of a controversy following accusations of racism made by Julien Fournier, former sports director of OGC Nice. Galtier denied these allegations and decided to sue Fournier for defamation.
A preliminary investigation for “discrimination” was opened, with searches carried out at the headquarters of OGC Nice. Investigators seized documents related to Galtier’s arrival and departure. They also searched transfers made during his tenure, as well as mailboxes that were examined.
Although there are no audio recordings to back up Fournier’s claims of racism, a few messages on WhatsApp were discovered where Christophe Galtier questioned the “traditional outfit” worn by Jean-Clair Todibo. This was reported by L’Equipe.
Galtier reacted vehemently to these allegations. He claimed that his name and that of his family were irresponsibly smeared. This case comes as PSG have had a turbulent season.
