Labéo is a cutting-edge analysis and research center resulting from the merger in 2014 of several Normandy laboratories.
Its teams (nearly 400 employees) carry out approximately 1,250,000 assays and research each year for 80,000 customers in France et al’foreign in the fields of animal health, water or food analysis.
Support from the City and the Department
This laboratory mainly public health has had an agency in Valognes (Manche) for two years, in the Armanville business area, route de Sottevast.
This strengthens our territorial network, knowing that in the Channel, we are already established in Saint-Lô. The two sites (Labéo has six in total) are linked to our research platform (and head office) in Saint-Contest, in Calvados.
A general manager who was mi-avril 2023 Versailles in Normandy to take stock of the two years of activity of the local agency, in the presence of the mayor, Jacques Coquelin, and Jean Morin, president of the Departmental Council of Manche.
“This agency would not have been possible without the support of these two territorial partners. The municipality of Valognes and the Department have provided valuable assistance to Labéo in carrying out this project. The teams of the town hall of Valognes carried out in-depth work with ours in order to find a room with all the qualities expected by our laboratory. »
Three people assigned to sampling
The Department, for its part, intervened through a financial support “for an agency that promotes the attractiveness of the territory and provides unique services to the economic players in Mancho”.
In Valognes, 10,000 analyzes were carried out in two years, and nearly 2,000 samples were deposited via the “Collect and drop” system. Very good results according to Patrick Jeanneniez, president of Labéo.
On the site, three people are assigned to the samples. It is also a place for storing and managing samples. Of Monday to Thursdayinter-site shuttles are provided to facilitate transport between the various laboratories of the group.
