All villages in Yogyakarta have a stunting reduction acceleration team (TPPS) to lower the stunting prevalence rate to 14 percent by 2024.

Yogyakarta province in Indonesia has established stunting reduction acceleration teams (TPPS) in all 78 sub-districts and 438 villages to lower the stunting prevalence rate to 14% by 2024. The team’s responsibilities include providing additional food, multivitamins, and health services, and disseminating information on healthy lifestyles and stunting prevalence data. The Ministry of Home Affairs will evaluate and grade the TPPS’s performance, with the team’s achievements weighting the regional heads’ performance grade. The province’s Health Office data showed a constant decrease in the number of stunting cases in Yogyakarta, from 21.04% in 2019 to 16.4% in 2022. The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) distributed IDR32.9bn ($2.1m) for stunting reduction in Yogyakarta’s four districts and one city this year. Sleman District received IDR9bn, followed by Bantul District with IDR7.6bn, Gunungkidul District at IDR6.7bn, Kulonprogo District with IDR5.3bn, and Yogyakarta City with IDR4bn. BKKBN also cooperated with Yogyakarta’s one thousand midwives to provide additional food for children to prevent stunting.
