Acting Governor of West Sulawesi invites the Indonesian National Armed Forces to improve tourism in Karampuang Island. Facilities and tourism programs will be implemented.

The Acting Governor of West Sulawesi, Akmal Malik, has called on the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to work together to develop the Karampuang Island in the Mamuju District as a tourist destination. The government has said that the island’s marine tourism offering is lacking and improvement is necessary. To that end, Malik has said that both sides will work together to create beach tourism amenities such as beach volley spots, villas, and mangrove tours. The government aims to boost the local economy and create more jobs through the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Malik is confident the efforts will lead to the revival of sea transportation and attract more tourists to the area. Various tourism programs will also be implemented, such as local art tours.
