Congratulations, you are ready for Gjensidige USM’s final game! How does it feel?
Thank you, it feels incredibly inspiring to be one of the 8 best teams in our age group. There are many good teams that fought for these places and that we now have one of them, we are incredibly proud and happy about.
Give us a snapshot of when it was clear you were ready for the final game.
We had a very good first day where we play two good games and win both games. With those wins and other results going our way, we were ready for the finals before our last game. It was incredible joy and so many smiles when we knew we were ready for the final game. It was then just to go out and enjoy the last match.
What are your expectations for the upcoming final game?
To be part of the final game is something very special as all the best teams are in one and the same place and it will be a big handball party. None of our players (only our A coach) has previously been in the final game, which means that we are incredibly happy to be in the final game in particular. Now that we are in the final game, we just have to keep going and play as good handball as possible. We hope for many good matches and of course that we take home as many matches as possible.
If you look back and reflect on last season’s USM games, what are the lasting impressions?
Above all, that we as individuals and as a team during the course of the year have developed and become much better on all levels. We see that the time we spend on training has an effect and that we have now qualified for the finals. Something we think has been extra fun is getting to meet the teams you don’t meet very often or have never met. In all stages up to the finals, we have had to face teams that are in the finals and now it is important that we can play our best handball when we got here.
When the audience in Uppsala line up to watch you, what can they expect to see?
They can expect to see a tough and stable defensive game where we have good cooperation between each other. Also a varied attacking game where we mix our individual qualities with a strong collective game. Above all, that we have a strong will and are smart in everything we do.
Tell us a little more about your team.
We are a squad with the majority of players born in 2004 and a few born in 2005. Some of the players have trained and experienced games in the Allsvenskan, the majority of the players have played in Div2 and some have played in junior series this season. Even though we trained and played in different formations during the season, we feel that we have put together a good whole during the USM game.
