Toy constructors are one of the most popular children’s toys in the world. And although it might seem that the history of building blocks begins directly with the Danish company Lego, in fact it is not.
English toymaker Harry Fisher Page, who founded his own toy company Kiddicraft, created the world’s first building blocks after World War II. In 1947, HF Page patented the first version of the building blocks, which are then also considered Lego ancestors.
Because only a few years later, the Danish carpenter and the founder of the toy company The Lego Group, Ole Kirk Kristiansen, and his son Gottfried learned about the bricks produced by Kiddicraft and, seeing great potential in them, transformed the version of the bricks created by Harry Fisher Page.
In 1949, Christiansen began to produce his series of prefab constructors, which in 1953 became the most widely known Lego block shape.
However, why exactly the blocks produced by Lego have gained such huge popularity and what makes them different among other manufacturers – more about that in the next article!
Lego constructors: how do they contribute to a child’s development?
Lego constructors and building blocks and blocks as such are included in the category of developmental toys.
They contribute to the development of the child from infancy, when this type of blocks helps to develop the motility of the small fingers, thus accelerating the development of the child’s speech, movement, and cognitive abilities. With time, the child learns colors, shapes, gets an idea of different images and objects.
As the child grows older and starts playing with more complex construction models, he learns to solve problems himself, logical and mathematical thinking is encouraged, and the child’s ability to concentrate for a long time to complete a certain task grows. It teaches patience and promotes self-discipline.
Also, a very important and development-promoting factor is that playing with Lego allows the child to immerse himself in his fantasy world. The child is able to act out various everyday impressions and events, creating his own play world, where, through various role-playing games, he expresses his inner emotions in a safe, peaceful and playful atmosphere.

What makes Lego different?
Lego is considered to be the highest quality product compared to the constructors offered by other manufacturers.
This is because a company as large, stable and profitable as The Lego Group has had much greater resources over more than 80 years to develop the strict high quality product controls that absolutely all Lego toys go through.
The Lego company has paid special attention to ensure that their products are safe for children’s health. Legos are made from plastic that does not contain chemical compounds harmful to children. This is a very important factor, because in the first years of life, children get to know the world through their mouths, therefore most toys end up in the child’s mouth as well.
Since Lego bricks are also subjected to load tests, they stand out for being extremely durable and almost indestructible. Likewise, Lego blocks and constructor parts have a particularly tight grip, which is an important nuance when building bulky and complex models.
But what makes Lego products especially loved by children all over the world is their ever-new and exciting series. The Lego company is able to offer new Legos every year sets that are produced in accordance with current trends in the field of films, cartoons and games.
It should also be noted that the Lego company does not only think about children, because they are available Read to complete also for adults, therefore Lego offers a very wide and nuanced production for the most diverse age groups, adapting to different interests.

Cena
Almost the only downside of these toys is that these constructors are not cheap. Lego is indeed more expensive than other competitors, but this guarantees that the toy has passed all the necessary quality control tests and is safe for the child.
Lego is a long-lasting toy, so it can be passed on to other children because it keeps its original quality almost unchanged. All Lego sets are inter-connectable, so they can be used perfectly even when blocks from different series are mixed with each other.
