On the live broadcast of the Yedyni Novyni telethon, the acting head of the National Police of Ukraine told how law enforcement officers worked during one of the most important religious holidays for Ukrainians. At the same time, Ivan Vyhivskyi reported that recruitment for the unified assault brigade of the National Police “Lyut” is currently underway. It is reported Government portal.
“The police work in an intensified mode at the beginning of the war. And I can say that nothing extraordinary happened. More than 20 thousand law enforcement officers were involved, public safety was ensured in more than 13 thousand temples. We engaged bomb technicians and dog handlers to protect citizens from possible terrorist threats. There were more than 13 million believers who came to celebrate Easter.
At the same time, during a live broadcast, Ivan Vyhivskyi reported that the unified assault brigade of the National Police “Lyut” is currently fully staffed:
“At present, the fighters are undergoing training – initial training, fire and tactical training. Next will be the combat coordination of all relevant units. We have a lot of motivated guys and girls who decided to serve in the assault brigade. This is the first experience of the National Police, there were no such brigades before, although during the war, starting in 2014, police officers were also involved in combat operations as part of consolidated units. The “Lyut” assault brigade is already a separate unit that has the corresponding functions, which were adopted and approved by the President of Ukraine at the legislative level.”
