At the end of March, we already reported that the leaders of the technology industry signed an open letter and called for a temporary suspension of the development of large artificial intelligence (AI) systems. Such a request, of course, also applies to the company “OpenAI”, which largely started the craze for creating and using AI solutions. Relatedly, in a discussion about AI threats, OpenAI CEO and co-founder Sam Altman confirmed that the company is not currently training GPT-5, an improved version of the AI model GPT-4.
Commenting on the letter signed by industry leaders, Altman said it lacked detail on exactly which areas of artificial intelligence needed a pause. Also, the head of “OpenAI” emphasized that the company is not currently training “GPT-5” and will not do so for some time.
At the same time, the fact that “OpenAI” is not currently working on “GPT-5” does not mean that the company has taken a break from developing AI models. On the contrary, “OpenAI” diligently expands the possibilities provided by “GPT-4”, which are mostly related to increasing the security of the solution and accuracy in providing answers.
