Dresden. As the responsible supervisory authority, the Saxony State Directorate (LDS) has approved the budget for 2023 and 2024 previously approved by the city council of the state capital. Dresden is sticking to the ban on borrowing and has not planned to take out any loans for either financial year.
The city’s financial plan has a volume of around 2.2 billion euros in both budget years – a record value. Expenditure of around 425 million euros is planned for investments in 2023 and around 384 million euros in the following year. Of this, construction measures alone account for around 275 million euros (2023) and 248 million euros (2024). The focus remains on school building construction.
