Alès, Nîmes, Villeneuve-lès-Avignon: twelve Gardois were qualified for the French junior swimming championships which took place in Chartres, in a 50-meter pool.
They were 12 Gardois qualified for the French junior championships (14-18 years old), which took place a few days ago in Chartres. Six Alésiens, the CNCA presenting the 3rd largest delegation from Occitanie, three Nîmes and three Villeneuvois. The overall results are good, even if the icing on the cake is missing: a medal.
Two Cevennes born in 2008 in verve
Two young Cévennes are approaching it. Giulia Radovici, born in 2008, took 5th place in the 200m A final (2’8”53) and placed 4th and 5th respectively in her age category over 800m (in 9’23” 96) and 1,500m (in 18’03”26), two distances over which there was no final. She also finished 3rd in the 400m B final.
Gard record for Noélie Sandoval
The versatile Noélie Sandoval, 15, also reached the A final twice in the 200 and 400 m medley. For the same result: 7th in times of 2’28”29 and 5’13”79. Note also his 6th position in the B final of the 200 butterfly, double Gard record (15 years old and 16 years old) in 2’30”86; and his 7th in the 200 breaststroke.
CNC Alès first Gard club, 33rd French club
Alesian Alix Viguier compiled four B finals (3rd in the 100m, 5th in the 50m and 50m backstroke, 8th in the 400m). Among the boys, Alexis Topie is 24th in the 200 backstroke, Kaïs Zaid 26th on 100 butterfly (personal record) and Victor Brunet, first at this level, 67th on 50 butterfly. This makes CNC Alès the 33rd French club, the 1st Gard, in these championships.
Swimmers from Nîmes and Villeneuve-lès-Avignon also shine
The Nîmes also ensured. In breaststroke, Melisa Bellache, born in 2008, finished 5th in the A final over 100m (1’16”02) and 7th over 50m (34”95) in the 13-15 age group; and 8th in the B final over 200m. Louisa Migliore excelled in the 50m backstroke: 5th (in 31” 24). Just like Grégoire Charmasson in the same event, 8th in the A final (28” 24), who can do it all: 3rd in the 100 pap, 5th and 8th in the 200 and 400 m medley in the B finals.
Finally, mention goes to Villeneuve to Gaël Amadi, twice 8th in the A final of the butterfly over 100 (in 58” 89) and 200 m (2’15”93) 15-16 years old (4th also in B over 50 pap) and to Eulalie Clech, 5th in the B final for 16-18 year olds in the 400m and 13th in the 1,500m scratch. Baptiste Levert is 21st in the 1,500m.
