Saudi astronaut meets Crown Prince ahead of historic trip to International Space Station

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi astronaut, Rayana Al-Barnawi, expressed, on Monday, her enthusiasm to set an example for future generations, after her meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman.

Al-Barnawi published a picture with Prince Muhammad bin Salman, commenting on it by saying: “The words of His Highness, the Crown Prince and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Space, before our trip to the International Space Station, will remain engraved in our hearts.”

And the Saudi astronaut continued to say: “With enthusiasm and determination, we set out to set an example for future generations and strive to achieve scientific progress for our dear homeland.”

The Saudi Crown Prince had received 4 Saudi astronauts before their scientific trip to the International Space Station next May, according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Al-Barnawi is the first Saudi, Arab and Muslim astronaut to reach the International Space Station, while her colleague Ali Al-Qarni will be the first Saudi astronaut to achieve this achievement, according to Wass.

It is noteworthy that Prince Mohammed bin Salman holds the position of Chairman of the Supreme Council for Space.
