Latvian Cruiserweight Richard Bolotnik Shares Expectations for Fight Against Ukrainian Boxer Alexander Gvozdyk

Cruiser weight Richard Bolotnik from Latvia (19-6-1, 8 KOs) told what he expects from the fight with the Ukrainian boxer Alexander Gvozdyk (18-1, 14 KOs), which will be held on May 6 in Guadalajara, Mexico:

“The fight will be 10 rounds. I expect Gvozdyk to be the same as he was at his peak. I never underestimate boxers. Each of the boxers is always training. I know Gvozdyk trained and helped Canelo before the Bivol fight.

Gvozdik is a technical, fast, hardy high-class boxer. So let’s get in the ring. And I will punch him in the face. Like a man, like a gentleman. This is a sport. The one who is stronger, who is more cunning, who is more enduring, who has fortune will win. As fate decides there, so be it. But we only go out to win.

I didn’t see Gvozdik’s last fight, I didn’t even try to find it. But they threw me one round, there was amateur shooting. Of course, I watched his fight with Artur Beterbiev and some other fight. And you can’t say anything about his last fight. He just went out to breathe, I guess.

My plan? Hand up. I have to raise my hand, and that’s it. Here is my plan. Only a victory. I’m going out to win and show the school. Therefore, I will go out and have to show everything that my coach has put into me for a long time.

The fight between Gvozdyk and Bolotnik will take place on May 6 in Guadalajara, Mexico, on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs. John Ryder.
